Casual Nurses required for WA's premier cat welfare organisation
Cat Haven is a busy, open admission cat shelter that has been in operation since 1961, taking up to 8000 cats and kittens each year. Operating under the Getting to Zero model, we are proud of being able to save more than 90% of the cats that need our help each year and are constantly striving to do more.
With the opportunity to increase the size of our team to meet demand, we are seeking a passionate, experienced veterinary nurse to join our vibrant team We provide high-quality surgical and medical care with our approach to treatment guided by expert feline veterinary and behavioural advice, ensuring compassionate care without financial bias
At Cat Haven, our nurses play a vital role in a fast-paced clinical environment—supporting surgeries, consultations, and the care of hospital patients. You'll be backed by a dedicated team of experienced Veterinarians, Veterinary Assistants, Cat Welfare Officers, and passionate Volunteers. We're a small but busy clinic where no two days are the same and you'll never get bored. Shelter nursing is deeply rewarding—you'll end each week knowing you've truly saved lives and made a lasting impact on the welfare of the cats and kittens that come through our shelter.
Qualifications
 * Cert IV in veterinary nursing or equivalent with at least six months paid experience and appropriate registration.
 * Friendly, positive approach.
 * Enjoys a fast pace and the challenge of adapting throughout the day.
 * Genuine passion for cats and their welfare, including low stress management and handling.
 * Experience in a shelter or high-volume environment would be desirable.
 * Further knowledge or skills in feline behaviour and/or low stress handling would be an advantage.
