We’re seeking a Principal Project Engineer (Infrastructure and Assets) to help deliver the New Bundaberg Hospital Project — a transformative health infrastructure development for the Wide Bay–Burnett region. Your Opportunity
- The Principal Project Engineer (Infrastructure and Assets) will provide strategic leadership, high level technical advice and management and coordination for the delivery of infrastructure and asset services for the New Bundaberg Hospital Project (NBHP) and other associated capital infrastructure projects within the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service.
- This role will bring a high level understanding of asset management, asset maintenance, central energy facility management, project management, risk management and business continuity management.
- This position reports directly to the Executive Director – Recent Bundaberg Hospital Project.
Temporary Full Time (76 hours p.f.) from date of appointment for a period of 3 years with the possibility of extension.

What we're looking for
- Proven success at senior level in developing, maintaining and implementing asset management frameworks, compliance frameworks, policies and guidelines and engineering maintenance services with an extensive and varied building asset portfolio.
- Advanced capability in applying project management expertise and governance frameworks to deliver complex, time‑critical projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Possession of a Degree in Engineering from a recognised tertiary institution or equivalent.
- Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and if applicable registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement.
- Obtain and maintain membership of Engineers Australia.
- While not mandatory, registration as a Professional Engineer of Queensland or Chartered Professional Engineer would be highly regarded.
- Previous significant Asset Management and Maintenance experience in a healthcare environment is highly desirable.
- Experience in the development and delivery of Infrastructure Master Planning, Strategic Asset Management Services, Maintenance and Project Planning Services, Project Delivery and Maintenance Services (multi‑disciplinary teams) are highly desirable.

Our offer
You will receive a competitive remuneration package value up to $182,185 p.a., comprising salary between $150,906 - $159,677 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (PO6) (Temporary Full Time, 76 hours p.f., from date of appointment for a period of 3 years with the possibility of extension) (Applications will remain current for the duration of the vacancy).
