About the Role

AWH are seeking an enthusiastic Dentist to provide casual undergraduate (UG) dental student supervision for up to 4 chairs in our busy public clinic. The AWH UG Clinical Supervisor, casual, will carry an honorary title with LTU & is responsible for supervision of 4th & 5th years Dental students of La Trobe University (LTU). This role will support the Dental UG Supervisor with leave coverage, etc.

The honorary title with LTU will recognise the incumbent's contribution to the UG program, ensure access to LTU academic library resources as well as professional networking opportunities with academic & clinical staff of LTU. The UG Supervisor will work with the AWH program manager & senior dental assistant, together with the LTU Student Clinical Support Officer, to oversee the daily operations of the student clinical program.

This will include intake & triage of referrals suitable for the student clinic & optimising student allocations. They will provide high quality clinical supervision & assessment of student learning & performance in line with the Australian Dental Councils Professional Competencies. With support from the Program Manager and the Dental Director the UG Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring all UG students provide safe & quality care to our community. The UG Supervisor will also be responsible for maintaining all relevant AWH documentation to support the daily operations of the UG clinic program.

The successful candidate will:

* Have a minimum of 3-years current clinical practice in Australia
* Demonstrate a high level of clinical competency in dental practice
* Demonstrate capability in effective clinical supervision

This role is an ongoing casual role.
