About the role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our dynamic team at KISTA GROUPS PTY LTD (T/A) CASA DE AMOR MEXICAN BAR & KITCHEN in Hobart, Tasmania. As our Chef, you will be responsible for creating and delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests. This is a full-time role with opportunities for career advancement within our growing hospitality group.
What you'll be doing
* Prepare, cook and present high-quality, creative dishes using the freshest local and seasonal ingredients
* Ensure consistent food quality, portion control and presentation in line with company standards
* Manage and supervise kitchen operations, including inventory management, scheduling and team leadership
* Collaborate with the front-of-house team to enhance the overall dining experience
* Maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment
* Contribute to the development of new menu items and seasonal offerings
What we're looking for
* Formal culinary training and a minimum of 2-3 years' experience as a Chef in a similar role
* Any formal culinary qualification is required to demonstrate professional competency in commercial cookery
* Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen operations and industry trends
* Excellent time management, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
* Passion for using fresh, seasonal ingredients to create innovative, flavourful dishes
* Ability to work well in a team and contribute to a positive, collaborative kitchen environment
* Food safety and hygiene certification
* Food Safety Supervisor certification is required
