About the role We are seeking organised administration professionals at the APS4 level for our Commonwealth Government client based in Fyshwick, ACT.
This full-time role sits within the client's Culture and Safety Team and is offered as a 12-month non-ongoing APS contract, with the possibility of a 6-month extension.
Eligibility: This position is open only to candidates who: are of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, and are accepted by their community as such.
This measure is in line with the Australian Government's affirmative action provisions.
Please note: only Australian citizens with the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance can be considered for this role.
Duties: Serve as first point of contact, managing calls, emails, and visitor enquiries.
Provide administrative support to the Culture and Safety Advisor and team.
Coordinate meetings, travel arrangements, and stakeholder engagement.
Support secretariat functions including preparing agendas, minutes, and correspondence for advisory committees, and follow-up on action items.
Manage procurement tasks and process invoices.
Monitor supplies, equipment, and account payments.
Assist with gathering and preparing information for reporting and monitoring.
Collaborate across business areas to support agency operations and contribute to efficient team operations.
Requisite skills/experience: Demonstrated ability to provide executive and administrative support.
Experience in successfully managing competing workloads to a high standard.
Proven ability to work independently, or under limited guidance, and exercise judgement to make decisions.
Well-developed oral and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
An understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
An ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
