An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced and committed Registered Nurse to join the Palliative Care Department within Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH), Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) on a temporary, part‐time basis.
The Palliative Care CNC2 provides expert clinical leadership in palliative care, supporting high‐quality, person‐centred care for patients with life‐limiting illness and their families. The role contributes to clinical practice development, education, service improvement, and multidisciplinary collaboration across acute and community settings.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide advanced clinical expertise in specialist palliative care
* Lead and support best‐practice, evidence‐based nursing care
* Contribute to education, mentoring, and professional development of staff
* Participate in quality improvement, service development, and clinical governance activities
* Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external partners
* Support continuity of care and care planning across settings
Qualifications
* Registered with Authority to Practice with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. Minimum five years full time post graduate experience with 3 years full time equivalent in Palliative Care Nursing. In addition the applicant must have an approved post graduate qualification (minimum Grad Diploma/Certificate level) or evidence of working towards Masters level qualification.
* Demonstrated effective organisational and time management skills and the capacity to successfully manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Demonstrated excellent collaborative, leadership and teaching skills.
* Excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills and the ability to provide, information and education effectively to patients, families and carers.
* Demonstrated advanced ability to assess, plan, initiate and manage complex cases.
