We have an exciting position available for an EL1 Assistant Director Liaison (Justice) in the Complex Support Needs (CSN) Branch.
The Complex Support Needs Branch provides specialised support for people with disability with additional complexity due to situational and personal factors. Roles within the branch may sit within the following teams: Complex Support Needs, Short Term Response, Children and Young People, Justice Planning, Justice Liaison, Operations.
These vacancies are available under three streams: General, Affirmative Measures – Disability and Affirmative Measures – First Nations. Please indicate which stream you are applying for at the time of completing your application.

Not every day will be the same and being adaptable is the key to success. Main elements of this role include:
* lead and coordinate project activities to support the Justice Service Offer, including oversight and guidance of a team
* represent the agency in internal and external consultations, building stakeholder awareness and engaging across justice networks and cross-agency forums
* work collaboratively with key stakeholders involved in access, planning and implementation to support cohesive service responses for participants connected with the justice system
* contribute to developing and strengthening working arrangements with government and community justice partners, aligned with relevant agreements and operational frameworks
* lead internal engagement and represent the branch on justice related working groups, project committees and information sharing initiatives
Eligibility
This position may have a considerable level of public contact in relation to complex, difficult, or sensitive issues.
To join our team, you will have:
* strong disability awareness and ability to navigate complex or sensitive issues with professionalism and integrity
* excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience working across government and community sectors
* ability to lead teams, work autonomously and operate effectively in a fast-paced dynamic environment
* allied health background or lived experience of disability (desirable)
Notes
While this role is ideally performed from Parramatta, Surry Hills, Darwin, Brisbane, Robina, St Marys or Geelong, remote working arrangements may be considered.
We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months with the possibility of extension up to 2 years may be offered.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
Getting to know the National Disability Insurance Agency
The NDIS provides funding to eligible people with disability to gain more time with family and friends, greater independence, access to new skills, jobs, or volunteering in their community, and an improved quality of life. The NDIS also connects anyone with disability to services in their community. This includes connections to doctors, community groups, sporting clubs, support groups, libraries and schools, as well as providing information about what support is provided by each state and territory government. The NDIS now supports over 500,000 Australians with disability to access the services and supports they need. This includes supporting approximately 80,000 children with developmental delay, ensuring they receive supports early so that they achieve the best outcomes throughout their lives.
