MRAEL in partnership with Gladstone Area Water Board (GAWB) is seeking a highly motivated and eager Horticulture Trainee.
GAWB is a leading water provider that delivers safe and reliable services that enhance the livability and economic development of our region. This is a outstanding opportunity to contribute to Gladstone's most essential service and consider a traineeship with GAWB.
Embark on a rewarding learning journey as a Trainee Horticulturist at the Gladstone Area Water Board. Alongside practical duties maintaining green spaces, you will attend classroom sessions to equip you with essential knowledge to excel in the diverse, dynamic horticultural industry.
What’s involved?
Gain practical experience working alongside seasoned professionals in maintaining and beautifying parks, gardens, and public spaces. Perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, you'll learn to grow and manage plants, laying the foundation for a rewarding, nature-filled career. This position is responsible for the maintenance of landscaping, reticulation systems and gardening resources in line with GAWB’s Open Space Maintenance Management Plan (OSMMP), including landscaping improvement projects as required to GAWB owned recreation and infrastructure sites.
Roster:
Monday to Friday - 9 day fortnight (76 hours per fortnight)
About you:
You will have a positive attitude, willingness to learn and work collaboratively with others. Our ideal candidate will have the following:
- Hold a current C Class Drivers Licence
- Genuine interest in the Horticulture industry
- Willingness to learn
- Highly motivated self-starter with great initiative
