About the Role
As a Personal Care Worker, you will attend to the personal care needs of customers, focusing on those requiring additional assistance due to physical limitations or frailty. You will provide manual handling support, deliver activities to enhance physical, social, emotional and intellectual development, supervise daily hygiene routines, and report changes in customers' conditions to senior staff. You will advocate for residents' wellbeing through exceptional service and effective collaboration with families and the care team.
Responsibilities
* Use a person‐centred approach, demonstrating patience, empathy and listening, and respecting each customer's diverse needs.
* Attend to personal care needs of customers requiring additional support due to physical limitations or frailty.
* Identify and report changes in customers' circumstances and capacity to senior staff, monitor and record vital signs, and assist with medication management including reminders and administration as prescribed.
* Provide manual handling assistance for daily tasks and support daily hygiene routines (showers, baths, shaving, nail care).
* Assist customers with aids such as applying surgical/support stockings or operating a tens machine.
Qualifications
* Studying towards Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) is desirable.
* Previous experience providing personal care services to individuals with physical or mental disabilities, elderly or chronically ill patients.
* Proficiency in activities of daily living, person‐centred practice, medication administration and monitoring, and providing medical and personal support to patients and residents.
* Excellent analytical thinking, communication, customer experience, emotional intelligence, planning and prioritisation, and results‐orientation skills.
