Job Description
We are looking for someone who loves to be part of a high-energy, fun, and fast-paced team. In this role, you will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of banquets and special events. Your leadership skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage a team will be crucial to the success of these events and guest satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Organize and control the daily operations of the hotel’s function facilities.
Assist with performance evaluations for staff.
Help the Conference & Events Manager with staff rostering to meet event needs while managing labor costs.
Support the Operations Manager with forecasting.
Assist in preparing accounts, ensuring accurate and timely charges.
Maintain constant and updated communication with all relevant departments regarding function activities.
Ensure smooth, efficient, and courteous service during functions.
Ensure all function rooms are set up according to the function sheets.
Ensure function sheets are understood by all staff and are kept up to date.
Assist in training and developing function staff, maintaining a detailed training log.
Coordinate with kitchen managers regarding daily activities, final numbers, menu changes, and food service times.
Ensure staff are familiar with the day's activities, including food and beverage details, consumption limits, packages, and charging procedures.
Follow up on guest comments, requests, and complaints, informing the Operations Manager of any issues.
Regularly liaise with the Operations Manager about all function activities, staffing, and suggestions.
Ensure all equipment is in good working order.
Secure function rooms each evening and keep storage and AV areas clean, tidy, and secure.
Ensure no leftovers are left in function areas after events, and returned to the kitchen.
Qualifications
What we are looking for :
Minimum of 2 years supervisory or assistant manager experience in hospitality, with assistant manager qualifications preferred.
Australian Full Working Rights.
Authentic personality with a genuine approach.
Outstanding customer service skills, adaptable to different clients.
A passion for hospitality and career development.
Lead by example, prioritizing team development and training.
RSA Certificate (Responsible Service of Alcohol) is essential.
