**How will I help?**
We're looking for an Executive Manager to join our Corporate & Sponsor Credit team, working in the second line of risk, to make a real difference in how we manage credit risk across our Business Lending and Private Wealth Lines. In this pivotal role, you'll be part of a team responsible for overseeing credit quality and decision-making, managing risk appetite, and developing strategies that align with the objectives of the Business & Wealth Division. You'll directly manage a portfolio of diverse industry groups, from large HNWI-owned businesses to corporate and sponsor-related lending, while driving consistency across Westpac, St George, Bank SA, and Bank of Melbourne.
You'll play a key role in credit decisioning, leading a team of professionals, ensuring decisions are sound and based on rigorous analysis. You'll also manage credit policies, operational processes, and controls to ensure they meet the highest standards. In partnership with senior leaders, you'll ensure that risk is effectively monitored and managed, including environmental and reputational risks. Alongside credit decision-making, you'll oversee regular reporting, analysis, and governance to keep the business aligned with our risk appetite.
Collaboration is crucial in this role. You'll work closely with business stakeholders, particularly State General Managers of Commercial Banking, to support growth goals while ensuring we operate within risk parameters. You'll lead the Diversified & Sponsor Credit team, driving a culture of engagement and performance, while ensuring the team is equipped with the tools, knowledge, and support to succeed. Leadership means fostering talent, managing resources effectively, and overseeing employee development to support both individual and business objectives.

**What do I need?**
With over 10 years of experience in credit decisioning, particularly in cashflow lending, you'll bring strong commercial banking knowledge, a strategic mindset, and a proven ability to influence stakeholders. If you've had exposure to private equity transactions or club/syndicated deals, even better. You are an experienced people leader and have excellent analytical skills, strong negotiation ability, and a knack for balancing commercial outcomes with risk management. We're looking for someone who's passionate about data-driven insights and customer-focused solutions, with the ability to guide the business towards strategic success.
