We're excited to share newly created opportunities in our Finance Advisory team, part of the Commercial, Finance and Infrastructure Practice in Canberra. Our Practice advises our public purpose clients on projects that shape Australia's future, delivering end-to-end expertise to support Australia's growth today, and tomorrow. Our diversity of industry experience, insight and deep capability drives confidence in financial outcomes.

Role focus

As a client-facing consultant, you will not just crunch numbers, you will shape smarter decisions that influence how government departments receive and allocate funding, invest in infrastructure, and deliver services for communities across Australia. You will play a crucial part in providing trusted advice and support that helps our clients achieve their objectives while making a real impact where it matters most.

Specifically, our Finance Advisory team works across:

* Financial and cost modelling to inform strategic decisions
* Performance and sustainability analysis across cost, funding and capital structures
* Technical accounting and reporting advisory, including complex transactions
* Funding and activity-based costing analytics
* Business case development and investment evaluation to support funding allocation
* Economic and financial analysis that underpins policy and project decisions

We are looking for highly capable and passionate individuals with diverse backgrounds who can bring new perspectives to support our clients to address critical challenges.

Responsibilities

* Advise and assist client finance teams on accounting, budgeting, financial and management reporting.
* Enable better financial outcomes through cost modelling, pricing and charging reviews, sustainability analysis, forecasting, business case evaluation, procurement support and commercial assurance.
* Improve finance and corporate service functions by assessing and redesigning operating models, enhancing processes and controls, and supporting digitisation and automation.
* Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends affecting government entities, and incorporate relevant insights into client solutions.
* Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and government entities. Serve as a trusted advisor, providing timely and insightful financial guidance and support. Proactively engage with clients to anticipate evolving needs and deliver tailored, value-added solutions.
* Coach and mentor junior colleagues to foster professional growth and capability within the team.

We are seeking candidates for multiple roles at different levels of their consulting career, from Associate through to Senior Manager. You will have the opportunity to broaden your consulting skills, advance your career, and be mentored by industry leaders, while working on diverse, high-impact projects that shape better financial and commercial outcomes for clients across Government and Defence.

Please note: These positions require Australian Citizenship and willingness to undertake Baseline (or preferably NV1) clearance to support work with Defence. For more information, please go to
