About the Role
We are looking for a keen up and coming Aviation Engine Maintenance Apprentice to join our team to support the most exciting engine platforms in the defence sector, – the legendary F/A 18 Super Hornet’s F414 engine, the M1 Abrams AGT1500 Tank engine and the F135 engine that powers the most advanced fifth-generation fighter in the world – the F35 Lightning II.
Your duties include:
- Performing heavy engine maintenance activities including strip, detailed inspection, and assembly
- Ensuring all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with approved publications, technical data, and work instructions
- Maintaining documentation of work in progress
- Performing maintenance supervisory/inspection duties as specified by aviation regulators
- Continually looking for way to improve in efficiency and effectiveness
- Taking all reasonable steps to ensure own safety and the safety of others
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- Completed the theory component of Certificate IV mechanical trade qualification
- Experience with strip, inspection and assembly of mechanical aviation components in a training or work experience environment.
- Awareness of airworthiness rules and regulatory requirements
- Awareness of recording in Aviation maintain documentation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals to meet regulatory requirements
- A passion and drive to deliver to keep their customers flying
