Overview
Gabyon Pastoral Co (1997) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Farm Hand to join our team in Dongara, Western Australia. This full-time position will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of our mixed enterprise, contributing to the overall success and growth of our business.
What you\'ll be doing
* Carrying out a range of farm duties focused on equipment operation and maintenance but may include animal husbandry, pasture management and fencing at other times.
* Assisting with the coordination and supervision of other staff to ensure efficient and effective farm operations
* Maintaining detailed records of farm activities, outputs, and resource usage
* Troubleshooting and resolving issues that arise on the farm in a timely manner
* Adhering to all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and policies
What we\'re looking for
* Minimum 5 years\' experience as a farm hand or in a similar agricultural role
* Strong practical skills and knowledge in the operation of farm machinery and equipment including tractors, headers and trucks
* Demonstrated ability to supervise and coordinate the work of other farm personnel
* Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work independently
* Commitment to animal welfare and sustainable farming practices
* Good physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labour tasks
* Relevant qualifications or certifications in agriculture or a related trade field would be highly regarded
* Must be an Australian permanent resident
