Early Childhood Educator - Long Day Care

* Must be flexible and able to work on a rotational roster between 6:15am and 6:45pm, Monday to Friday.

We are seeking Early Childhood professionals in the Sunbury area to support children's growth through play-based indoor and outdoor programs. You will collaborate with a team to develop and implement innovative educational programs, working with staff, families, and children. Responsibilities include planning, implementing, and evaluating programs, and creating inclusive, secure, and engaging learning environments. Knowledge of current pedagogical theories and early years reforms is essential.
What you’ll be doing :
* Manage the service as a nominated or certified supervisor, complying with the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 and Regulations 2011.
* Act in accordance with delegated authority in urgent situations, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
* Develop programs in consultation with staff, families, and children that incorporate their ideas and interests, using intentional teaching to promote active participation.
* Create developmentally and culturally appropriate educational programs based on ongoing planning, observation, and interpretation to facilitate meaningful learning.
* Establish collaborative relationships with colleagues to support children’s learning and development, fostering communication and shared learning.
* Provide a welcoming environment that supports family-centered practice, respecting individual needs and cultural backgrounds, including orientation for new families and children.
The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role :
* Understanding of Early Childhood policies, including the Code of Ethics and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with families, staff, and leadership.
* Commitment to continuous improvement in pedagogy and practice.
* Professional judgment and initiative in complex situations, with sensitivity to cultural, social, emotional, and economic issues.
* Ability to work effectively within a team and develop partnerships with families to support shared learning.
* Positive engagement with children, decisiveness, proactivity, and problem-solving skills.
Required Certifications & Qualifications :
* Diploma of Children’s Services or Certificate 3 in Children’s Services
* Experience in Long Day Care Services
* Knowledge of the Child Safe Standards and Reportable Conduct
* Working with Children’s Check
* Provide First Aid certification in an education and care setting
* Anaphylaxis Management
* Emergency Asthma Management
* Updated CPR
* Mandatory Reporting
