Job Title: Legal Counsel
Reports To: General Counsel in the US
Place of Work: Waterloo, Sydney
Contract: Full-time 6-month fixed term contract with the possibility of becoming permanent.

JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a Legal Counsel to support our global legal team by providing high-quality legal advice in areas including:
* Corporate and Commercial
* Procurement
* IT
* Employment
* Intellectual Property
Salary: AUD 115K – 130K per annum
Term: 6 months fixed-term contract with potential for permanence.
KEY TASKS
Role & Responsibilities:
* Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts
* Support the legal team with training and guidance on legal and compliance matters
* Provide legal advice to RWS Sports leadership, finance, marketing, and staff
* Guide the company's involvement in RFP and procurement processes
* Advise on regulatory compliance including the Corporations Act, Fair Work Act, and Privacy Act
* Draft and amend internal policies for legal compliance
* Manage domestic and international insurance matters
* Research foreign tax, visa, and international compliance issues
* Advise on Privacy/Data Protection (including GDPR) and intellectual property
* Oversee HR requirements in Australia
* Manage disputes and litigation
* Collaborate with external counsel as needed
* Supervise a junior in-house lawyer
* Support corporate secretarial duties
* Maintain legal precedents and templates

Qualifications & Skills:
* 4+ years of legal experience (in-house or private practice)
* Unsupervised practicing certificate in Australia with supervisory authority
