About the role
* Whip up high‐quality nutritional and dietary meals for patients and staff, ensuring compliance with Queensland Health and Food Standards requirements.
* Lead the kitchen operations – oversee all day‐to‐day food preparation, supervise catering officers, and maintain high standards of food safety and cleanliness.
* Collaborate with nurses, dietitians and staff to ensure every patient receives the appropriate meal, fostering a positive, professional kitchen environment.
* Participate in staff training, quality‐improvement projects, paperwork, meetings and workshops, maintaining a strong work ethic and positive atmosphere.
About you
* Positive, upbeat team player with excellent communication skills who thrives in a busy hospital kitchen and enjoys collaboration.
* Solid knowledge or ability to quickly learn hospital menus, dietary requirements, recipes, catering equipment, food safety standards and kitchen operations.
* Organised and able to juggle tasks to meet tight meal‐service deadlines, while guiding and supporting less‐experienced team members.
* Comfortable using Microsoft Suite and either already qualified or willing to complete a Food Safety Supervisor Course.
What we offer
Total remuneration value of up to $83,100 p.a., comprising an hourly rate of $35.04–$36.73, 12.75% employer superannuation contribution and 17.5% leave loading.
