Job Title

A proactive Commercial Manager is required to join our team.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking an individual with strong relationships, natural curiosity and technical expertise to provide sound recommendations based on commercial, financial and legal positions.

This role will involve navigating complex commercial matters and offering strategic advice on the best course of action.

The successful candidate will initially focus on our Across Government Facilities Management Arrangement (AGFMA) contract in South Australia but will have the opportunity to contribute to a range of Defence and Social Infrastructure contracts across Australia.

Some interstate travel will be required. This is a full-time position on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

* Attend quarterly in-person strategy meetings with the national Commercial team in various locations across Australia.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide expert advice across projects, ensuring strategic solutions for contractual risks and entitlements.
* Offer subject matter expertise on claims, disputes, variations, contract extensions and compliance to protect business interests.
* Partner with procurement, subcontract and legal teams to optimise contracting arrangements, reviews and compliance processes.
* Prepare, review and negotiate contract terms, notices, extensions and leveraged works, ensuring accuracy and risk mitigation.
* Interpret financial data, build models and provide insights that guide commercial decision-making.
* Maintain commercial registers and provide recommendations to project managers and directors before issues escalate.

* Degree in Business, Commerce, or Law (preferred).
* Strong knowledge of service contracts and contract law with hands-on commercial management experience.
* Data-driven decision-making to optimise value and mitigate risks.
* Proven experience in client engagement, negotiation and relationship management.
* Skilled in stakeholder engagement with clear and persuasive written and verbal communication.
* Adaptable work methods, effective planning and the ability to translate complex contracts into clear, actionable insights.
