Medical Assistant Role in Behavioral Health

* Key Responsibilities:
* Taking vitals and weight
* Giving injections
* Assisting providers
* Passing medications
* Greeting clients
* Filling out insurance paperwork and prior approvals
* Helping providers complete arrangements for referrals, admissions, and laboratory referrals
* Screening provider phone calls and assisting with problem calls
* Administering TB tests for employees
* Disposing of contaminated supplies
* Faxing and phoning in patient medications to pharmacies
Required Qualifications:
* Medical Assisting Diploma required; we welcome new graduates
* Certified Medical Assistant with six months to one year of experience in a clinical setting preferred
