Ipsos, Australia's leading Social Research company, was recently commissioned to conduct the National Drug Strategy Household Survey in 2025, on behalf of Australian Institute of Health and Welfare.
To ensure the success of the project, we are seeking a team of committed casual face-to-face interviewers. As a member of the team, you will play a vital role in community engagement, and the delivery and collection of self-complete surveys over a period starting late-August and running to late-November 2025.
Paid training will be provided, and there will be potential for high achievers to be trained in supervisory positions during the fieldwork period. For high achievers there may also be opportunities to work on other Ipsos projects after the conclusion on NDSHS.
Benefits
* $60 per hour for fieldwork + Super
* Kilometres travelled paid at $0.98 per km.

* Approximately 16 hours per week + travel (this will vary from week to week)
Your main responsibilities will include:
* Recruitment to Survey: You will be responsible for recruiting eligible households to participate in the study, ensuring that they understand the purpose and importance of their responses, and providing them with survey materials.
* Survey Collection: visiting participating households to collect the completed surveys.
To excel in this role, we are looking for individuals who possess the following qualities:
* Commitment: You are dedicated and reliable throughout the fieldwork period.
* Attention to Detail: You take all care to capture complete and accurate details.
* Excellent Communication Skills: You are comfortable speaking with strangers. You can explain the purpose of the study clearly and answer any queries or concerns.
* Professionalism: As representatives of Ipsos and AIHW, you maintain a warm, respectful attitude towards participants, and always act with honesty and transparency.
You will also require the following:
* Available to work full days on Saturdays AND Sundays:
* Available for a late-August start and to work through to late-November.
* MUST have a current driver's licence, access to a reliable vehicle and a mobile phone.
* The right to work in Australia.
* Be comfortable using smart devices (e.g., tablets)
Field or Census interviewing experience would be beneficialbut not essentialas full training will be provided.

This research is being undertaken in all Australian states and territories. Findings from the survey are used by researchers and policymakers to help estimate prevalence and better understand issues surrounding alcohol, tobacco and other drugs with a view to support better policy and service delivery decisions, leading to better health and wellbeing for all Australians.
