We are seeking a highly skilled Editor to support our ambitious growth plans in the children's editorial team.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a successful and growing publishing house with an impressive list of authors and illustrators across the board, in a key role within the publishing process.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for children's books and relevant experience working in children's publishing or a similar field. They will be a motivated, committed, creative, flexible individual with excellent editorial skills, a forensic eye for detail, and a thorough understanding of editorial and production processes.
Key responsibilities include managing multiple titles through the full editorial process, from manuscript delivery to printer-ready files, including structural and line editing, proofreading, liaising with authors and illustrators, agents, freelancers, and internal colleagues.
The successful candidate will also contribute to creative conversations about growing the list, read and report on submissions, and maintain title data in our bibliographic system throughout the publishing process.
We are a small team, so we are looking for someone who is happy to pitch in and has strong communication, project management, organisational, and time management skills.
This is a full-time permanent role, with a flexible working arrangement including working from home and in our office.
