Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Testing and Commissioning Deputy Manager to join our team.

You'll play a key part in ensuring the project meets technical standards, safety requirements, and grid compliance, including the all-important R2 testing process with AEMO.

In this role, you will be based on site, you will report daily to the Testing and Commissioning Manager.

Additionally, you will maintain frequent communication with the Project Manager, ensuring cohesive collaboration and successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

* Supporting the planning and execution of all testing and commissioning activities on site.
* Coordinating with contractors, equipment suppliers, and grid operators to ensure everything is ready for energization.
* Overseeing testing of key systems like PV arrays, inverters, transformers, protection relays, and SCADA.
* Taking the lead on the R2 testing process, including:

* Supporting the Grid connection team in answering requests of AEMO and sending reports needed

* Organizing and executing hold point testing.
* Troubleshooting technical issues during commissioning and helping resolve them quickly.
* Keeping accurate records of test results, issues, and resolutions.
* Supporting the final handover to the operations and maintenance team.

Qualifications:

* A degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
* Experience working with SCADA systems, HV/MV equipment, and protection systems.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment, manage multiple projects simultaneously and maintain a strategic approach.

Other Desirable Qualifications:

* Experience with renewable energy projects and integration of renewable energy sources.
* Understanding of Australian grid codes, AEMO requirements, and the R2 process.
* Familiarity with GPS submissions and NEM registration.
* Knowledge of system planning, fault calculation and power quality.
