Role
We are looking for a ward clerk to work Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 8am until 4:30pm. With potential to be flexible for the right candidate.
Ward 2 is a 16 bed medical oncology unit, treating patients with solid tumours and blood disorders ranging from diagnosis, active treatment to palliation and end of life care. We have a close relationship with surgical oncology, radiotherapy provided by Peter McCallum Institute, allied health services and palliative care teams.As one of Monash Health’s smaller sites you will work closely with the multi facet team towards the positive patient focus and outcomes.
The Ward Clerk is a key role within the Unit/Ward, providing a customer focused service to patients, their families and visitors. Working in a busy team based environment the Ward Clerk provides efficient and effective clerical support to the clinical ward staff. The Ward Clerk contributes to optimum patient care and actively contributes to the functioning of the Unit/Ward.
1. Please ensure you read the position description attached, as during the interview it will be expected you have a clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a ward clerk working on a busy inpatient ward.
2. Previous experience as a ward clerk in a public hospital is desirable, but not essential.
