Job Description
* Leads the organisation's finance and business services function, ensuring high‑integrity financial operations and strong governance.
* Oversees statutory reporting, audits, compliance frameworks and internal financial controls.
* Provides strategic financial insight, high‑quality analysis and decision‑support to senior leadership.
* Drives continuous improvement across financial systems, processes and reporting cycles, including digital and automation uplift.
* Partners closely with internal stakeholders to align budgeting, forecasting and resource planning with organisational priorities.
* Guides the development, capability and performance of a high‑performing finance team.
* Ensures financial stewardship that supports impactful delivery and strengthens organisational performance.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Finance Director should have:
* CA or CPA qualified.
* A seasoned senior finance leader with extensive experience in complex, fast‑paced and regulated environments.
* Strong understanding of public‑sector finance, including governance, statutory obligations and accountability frameworks.
* Deep expertise in financial and management accounting, with the ability to turn complex data into clear, strategic insights for executives and boards.
* Proven track record leading major uplift initiatives-system implementations, process redesign, control enhancements and operating‑model improvements.
* Skilled in budgeting, policy costings, funding processes and navigating central agency requirements.
* Highly analytical, adaptable and comfortable working through ambiguity to deliver practical, outcome‑focused advice.
* A capable people leader who builds capability, drives performance and fosters a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
* Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, able to influence senior leaders and shape organisational decision‑making.
* Demonstrates high integrity, sound judgement and alignment with values‑driven public service leadership.
