**About the Role**
In this position, you have the primary responsibility for the planning and implementation of food, beverage, event staffing, meeting room & court hire services at the Geelong Arena. You will be involved in the supervision, planning and delivery of events and catering operations, with the aims to provide efficient and effective delivery of great experiences at the venue.
This is a temporary full-time position for a duration of 11 months.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the delivery of food and beverage operations within the venue.
- Provide day to day management to Leisure Services Officers at the Geelong Arena.
- Responsible for staff rosters, induction and training of Leisure Services Officer (Events).
- Responsible for stock control including; reporting, venue uniform allocations, ordering, presentation and stock management in point of sale systems.
- Coordinate facility bookings, management and set up of meeting room & court hire services at the Geelong Arena.
- Effectively and efficiently work with user groups, contractors and event promoters to assist in the planning, supervision and delivery of events.
- Assist with delivery of promotions and marketing, particularly as they relate to event and catering activities.
**About you**
To be successful in this role, you will be experienced in coordination and running of catring and café operations, along with experience leading a team. You will be highly organised, with the ability to think on your feet and provide a high level of service to patrons. You will have the ability to liaise with a diverse range of people, have a professional approach to your work and a continuous improvement mindset.
**Essential**:
- Experience in Customer Service, Events and Hospitality Industry
- Knowledge of and experience in coordination of catering and café operations, food and beverage services inclusive of food safety policies and procedures and facility hire.
- Experience and knowledge of stock ordering, stock management and stock display.
- Ability to work outside normal business hours including evenings and weekends
- Current Working with Children Check / Level 2 First Aid Certificate / Responsible Serving of Alcohol & Food Handling qualications
- Operational experience in a large sporting and entertainment venue highly regarded.
