* Location: Brisbane, Canberra, Sydney or Melbourne
* Salary from $97,401 plus 15.4% super
* Permanent position

The team

ASIC's Markets Group is responsible for ensuring confidence and integrity across Australia's financial markets and the broader financial system. The Group regulates market participants and infrastructure and delivers supervision, licensing and regulatory reform to support market integrity, transparency and resilience.

The Strategic Initiatives team leads cross‐cutting work across the Markets Group, focusing on emerging risks and structural change affecting markets, coordinating high‐priority initiatives (such as digital assets reforms), and driving alignment and impact across ASIC.

The role

As an Analyst, you will contribute to the delivery of regulatory policy, implementation and reform initiatives across the Markets Group.

You Will Be Accountable For

* Contributing to regulatory policy projects, including providing input to Treasury, regulatory reviews and Government initiatives
* Supporting the implementation of regulatory reforms, including operationalising changes through systems, processes and training
* Undertaking research and technical analysis of legislation, policy and regulatory material to inform decision‐making
* Assisting with the development of policy positions, regulatory guidance and interpretation of regulatory settings
* Drafting clear and concise written materials such as briefs, papers, regulatory publications and training materials
* Collecting and analysing data and regulatory intelligence to generate insights and support evidence‐based policy outcomes

About You

You will bring a developed technical understanding of Australia's financial system, its regulation and current issues. You are able to research, analyse and interpret legislation, policy and data, and provide clear and accurate practical input into legislation, legal and policy issues. You can utilise your strong communication skills to present information and distil clear messages for different audiences.

You are a collaborative, proactive and adaptable team member who values teamwork and constructive participation. You show initiative and curiosity, take responsibility for your work and outcomes, and are confident engaging with others and developing productive relationships. You can work through complex or ambiguous issues calmly and logically, manage competing priorities with attention to detail, and build positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
