Field Service Technician - Electrical Power Generation
Based out of our Canberra branch you will complete preventative maintenance and basic repair activities on generators and components at customer sites.
Responsibilities
- Applies specialized tools and follows documented procedures to diagnose and complete basic repairs.
- Escalates unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor.
- Performs preventive maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on power generation products in the field.
- Completes required documentation such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
- Completes training in line with skill and business requirements.
- Maintains service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
- Trains electrical apprentices in and out of the branch.
- Coordinates jobs and responsibilities within the branch and delegates workload.
- Ensures adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation.
- Engages with customer in a courteous and skilled manner.
Qualifications
- Apprentice Trained Power Generation/ Electrical Technician (or equivalent).
- Diploma/Certificate from relevant technical institution.
- Current relevant electrical certification / tickets.
- Basic or Intermediate (preferred) level knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products.
- High Voltage / Low Voltage Experience preferred.
- Must be happy to travel and work between the Canberra and Sydney branches and stay in Sydney for a few days at a time while projects are completed.

- $5,000 Sign on bonus.
- Full Time – 38 hours per week.
- Competitive hourly rate.
- On call allowance provided.
- Overtime as required – penalty rates paid for all work above 38 hours.
- All your safety equipment/PPE and uniforms are provided and laundered.
- Local valid driver’s license is required.
- Candidate will be expected to be mechanically minded and hands on as some powergen services will involve changing oil and filters.
Ideal location of candidate – North Canberra/Goulburn or somewhere half way between Sydney and Canberra.
