Here at The Kids Research Institute Australia, our passionate finance team are a pivotal part of the organisation. Working closely with our research teams, they provide strategic and operational financial support with budgets, planning and analysis, enabling us to achieve our mission - to improve the health and wellbeing of children through excellence in research.
We now have an exciting opportunity for two Finance Officers to join our team. In this role, you will provide operational financial support to the institute by overseeing departmental and/or commercial projects and their accounting processes. The role will be responsible for transactional finance and financial accounting processes and support the Finance
Business Partner with the requirements of internal and external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Provide support to non-finance staff regarding finance process and related queries.
* Monitor expenses to budget and investigate / resolve variances.
* Partner with stakeholders to ensure reporting requirements are met including the preparation of financial acquittals and other reporting to funding organisations.
* Accurate financial data entry and accounting journals, including internal cost recoveries, reallocations, recoupments, prepayments, capitalisation of assets, accruals and deferrals.
* Identify, analyse, and provide recommendations to resolve financial issues that arise for projects within remit.
Based within Perth Children's Hospital in Nedlands, these ongoing roles may be offered on a full-time - part time will be considered.
About You
The ideal applicant will be a people-focused finance professional, who thrives in a dynamic environment. The key to your success will be your demonstrated experience in cultivating meaningful relationships based on trust, along with:
* Experience in accounting or finance with responsibility for supporting and enabling financial accounting, systems, processes, and improvements.
* Experience in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
* Strong analytical skills, and a high level of attention to detail, including accurate data entry skills.
* Demonstrated ability to develop collaborative working relationships with stakeholders and maintain them over time.
