The Opportunity
The College is seeking highly motivated, adaptable individuals with strong interpersonal and coaching skills to work collaboratively in supporting students engaged in modular learning. As this is a casual opportunity, work will be offered on an ad hoc, relief basis to support operational needs across teaching periods.
Working with the Student Success team, you will play an important role in supporting students to stay engaged and succeed throughout their studies at The College.
As a Casual Student Success Coach you will:
* Provide tailored one‑on‑one and group coaching that integrates pastoral care, academic support, and career guidance.
* Help students navigate challenges and celebrate their achievements.
* Monitor student progress and identify opportunities to improve retention and overall success.
* Contribute to the implementation of the Student Success Framework.
* Shape strategies that build belonging, inclusion, and connection across campus.
* Work closely with academic and professional staff to resolve complex student issues.
* Advocate for student needs across key areas of the university.
* Support the integration of the coaching model into curriculum and teaching practices.
Eligibility
To be eligible for casual employment, applicants must meet the below criteria:
* A relevant undergraduate qualification, or equivalent education and experience.
* Experience supporting student engagement, wellbeing, or success in a tertiary setting.
* Understanding of coaching or mentoring approaches and their impact on student outcomes.
* Experience working with diverse and underrepresented student groups.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport.
* Well‑developed problem‑solving skills and the ability to navigate complex or sensitive situations professionally.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders throughout The College and University.
* It is a mandatory requirement for all College employees to have a current NSW employee Working with Children Clearance (WWCC) in accordance with the NSW Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012.
About the Casual Community
The Casual Community is open for eligible candidates to register an Expression of Interest (EoI) for casual employment with Western Sydney University, The College. The Casual Community enables The College to access suitable and experienced individuals for casual employment opportunities across a broad range of business areas at short notice, subject to the following:
* You will be engaged as and when required, and on an ad hoc and/or intermittent basis. The College does not guarantee the provision of ongoing or regular employment, and makes no firm advance commitment to continuing or indefinite work.

Remuneration: Casual Professional Employee Level 6 – $62.65 per hour
