As we continue to expand, we’re seeking a dedicated Clinical Community Nurse to join our dynamic team on a permanent, weekday basis. We’re currently seeking a Permanent Part Time Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our dedicated team. This role is ideal for an experienced nurse who is ready to take on a broader clinical scope and provide advanced care and guidance in a home care setting. About the Role As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will apply advanced clinical skills to support complex client needs, contribute to best-practice care planning, and act as a key resource for other staff. This role blends hands-on care, clinical guidance, and continuous improvement in practice. You must be available to travel across the Gold Coast region to deliver care in clients’ homes. We are looking for a Registered Nurse experienced in: • Complex wound management (pressure injuries, diabetic foot ulcers, surgical wounds) • IDC & SPC catheter care (insertion, maintenance, troubleshooting) • IV therapy (peripheral cannulation, medication administration, infusion pump management) • Comprehensive assessments & care planning This permanent role operates Monday to Friday and provides an excellent opportunity to assume clinical leadership—mentoring junior nurses, contributing to service development, and shaping best-practice protocols. What You’ll Be Doing 1. Complex Wound Care Conduct wound assessments (photographic, measurement, staging. Develop and implement individualized wound management plan Evaluate dressing options, negative pressure wound therapy, and advanced modalities 2. Catheter Management Insert, maintain, and troubleshoot indwelling (IDC) and suprapubic (SPC) catheters Educate patients and carers on catheter care, infection prevention, and signs of complications 3. Patient Assessment & Care Planning Conduct holistic assessments (physical, psychosocial, environmental) in the home setting Develop and regularly review individualized care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Coordinate referrals to allied health, specialist clinics, and other community services 4. Clinical Leadership Mentor and support less-experienced community nurses and student placements Contribute to the development and review of clinical policies, procedures, and best-practice guidelines Participate in quality-improvement initiatives and clinical audits What You’ll Need Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse Minimum 3 years’ experience in community or acute care with proven expertise in: Complex wound assessment & management IDC/SPC catheter insertion and maintenance Peripheral IV antibiotic therapy Stoma care and PEG feeds.
