Job DescriptionOur Forensic Team assists clients to detect and respond to fraud, bribery, corruption, money laundering, misconduct and other financial crime issues as well as resolving commercial disputes. We help clients protect their business by aiding where facts and figures do not agree, where behaviour does not comply with expectations or where advice is needed concerning legal and regulatory requirements. By applying forensic techniques, investigation, intelligence, technology and industry skills we can help prevent and resolve commercial disputes, fraud, misconduct, and breaches of rules and regulations.Your OpportunityWe have an opportunity in our Melbourne forensic data analytics practice for an Associate Directorto assist our clients with calculating compensation arising from errors or misconduct. You will be working with our top tier clients in investigating, quantifying and remediating matters of fraud, misconduct, non-compliance and other irregularities.Your responsibilities will include:
1. Work with leading global organisations, regulators and law firms to formulate and document requirements for identifying, investigating and analysing business processes, functions and control frameworks.
2. Work collaboratively with clients to develop approaches to solve tricky problems - we're often working with ambiguity in law and irregularities in data. Our clients look to us to come up with a pragmatic, data driven approach to helping drive a decision.
3. Technical leadership on client projects - this includes translating requirements into analytical approaches / data models, providing on the job coaching / mentoring to junior analysts and reviewing analytical code written in SQL or Python.
4. Client and project management, including creation of project plans, project status reporting and escalation of open issues / risks.
5. Presentation of findings and methodologies to clients.
6. Draft clear and concise reports recording assumptions, decisions, methodology and results.
7. Testing and ensuring quality of analysis delivered by team members.
8. Scope and carry out day-to-day management of engagements (budgeting and billing), liaising with clients, assessing and analysing data and documentation, and managing junior team members.
9. Support business development activities, including proposal development.

10. You might be someone coming from a non-technical background ( accounting, investigations, disputes, legal, audit, risk or compliance) looking to grow their technical data analytics skills.
11. You're a detailed oriented individual with excellent problem solving skills. You may not know the answer now, but you will take the initiative to work it out.
12. You are great with quantitative analysis and have excellent written communication skills to articulate your analysis to a non-technical audience.
13. You are comfortable working in ambiguous situations - we work on projects where historical data may be incomplete or missing, but we still need to develop defensible approaches to challenging business problems

14. More than 8 years of professional work experience, preferably as a data analytics consultant, data analyst, SQL developer, business analyst or related role.
15. Strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
16. Experience in analysis with Microsoft SQL.
17. Experience leading small teams, including methodology development, model design, task assignment and quality review.
18. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
19. Experience in legal analytics, loss quantification, remediation or wage compliance is ideal but not necessary.
20. Experience in professional services would be highly regarded.
Qualifications
21. Tertiary qualifications or work experience in a business discipline ( finance, accounting, law, actuarial studies)
22. Tertiary qualifications in a technical discipline ( engineering, IT, computing, information systems) desirable but not mandatory.
23. Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia.
