We are looking for a Parks Maintenance Operator (PMO) to join the team.
What You Will Be Working On
As a Parks Maintenance Operator, your role will involve a variety of tasks aimed at ensuring the upkeep of the City's parks, gardens, and streetscapes. You will be responsible for:
* Operating trucks and 4WD spray units for park and reserve maintenance.
* Utilising tractors and various 3-point linkage equipment as needed.
* Undertaking horticultural and landscaping activities such as earth working, mulching, weeding, pruning, planting, and spraying approved herbicides.
* Using mowers, whipper snippers, and other small equipment for maintenance tasks.
* Adhering to flexible park duty rosters, including operating tractors, trucks, spray units, ride-on mowers, and small plant equipment.
* Ensuring the proper use, cleanliness, and presentation of vehicles and equipment.
* Maintaining professional and courteous relationships with the general public and staff.
What are we looking for
* Basic Worksite Traffic Management certificate
* Chainsaw Competency certificate
* First Aid certificate
* Sound experience in large scale parks maintenance
* Experience in the safe and effective use of parks maintenance plant and equipment
* Ability to operate a variety of horticultural plant and equipment in a safe and competent manner
* Experience operating ride on mowers
* Experience in using a powered spray unit
* Experience in working to maintenance schedules
* You must possess a current MR licence, Construction Induction Card and produce a Police Clearance that is less than 3 months old
* Horticulture or Turf qualification is desirable
