Logistics Specialists play a vital role in the success of Amazon Web Services by providing the right part, in the right place at the right time. Your contribution to this success would be maintaining the onsite parts room in AWS Data Centers, by managing the custody of computer hardware through their entire lifecycle. This involves receiving parts, safely storing parts, picking and delivering parts to hardware technicians, cycle counts, and shipping faulty hardware back to the vendor. You will work closely with Data Centre Operations and Engineering teams to ensure reliable functioning and repair activities to support our customers, while adhering to our operational tenants of safety, security and availability.

Responsibilities

* Maintain inventory to ensure that proper stock levels are managed to support build and repair activities.
* Physically receive and issue parts as needed for internal customers.
* Load, unload and transport parts between different sites.
* Keep accurate stock records for all items within our care through physical cycle counts.
* Maintain the safety, organization, and cleanliness of all workspaces using Amazon 7S principles.

Travel

The role may require the successful candidate to travel to other sites in the Melbourne metro area to assist in conducting cycle counts, receiving stock into the inventory control system, replenishing stock and returning defective stock. Travel between sites will require own transport; all travel related costs will be reimbursed.

Physical or Environmental Demands

* Loading and unloading shipments.
* Standing, sitting, and walking (including stairs) for prolonged periods.
* Willing and able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and kneel.
* Reach and stretch to position equipment and fixtures while maintaining balance.
* Push or pull heavy objects of up to 16 kg into position and participate in group lifts of 20 kg or more.
* Coordinate body movements when using tools or equipment.
* Work with and/or around moving mechanical parts.
* Work in an office and warehouse environment where the noise level is low to moderate.

Basic Qualifications

* Experience as a logistics professional supporting inventory cycle counts, shipments, maintenance, stock control functions, and reverse logistics.

Preferred Qualifications

1+ years of logistics operations experience.
