Business development manager

Overview

Woods & Co have partnered with a rapidly expanding, Australian-owned logistics provider that is transforming its footprint with a brand-new state-of-the-art depot in Perth. With new leadership and ambitious growth plans, the business is strengthening its domestic transport, international freight forwarding, and 3PL warehousing capabilities.

This role is designed for a Business Development Manager within transport and logistics who wants ownership of a market and the freedom to build revenue from the ground up. You'll be responsible for creating opportunity, converting prospects into long-term customers, and establishing a strong commercial footprint in your state.

Responsibilities

• Proactively building and owning a high-quality pipeline of new business across transport, freight forwarding and warehousing
• Spotting white-space opportunities and turning them into profitable, end-to-end logistics solutions
• Managing the full sales lifecycle — from initial market engagement through to negotiation and contract execution
• Positioning integrated domestic and international logistics services to mid-market and enterprise customers
• Working closely with operations to design scalable, commercially sound solutions that deliver real value

Qualifications

• 3+ years in transport, freight forwarding or logistics
• A proven track record of winning new business and opening doors with new customers
• Strong understanding of domestic transport networks and international freight operations
• Commercially astute, target-driven and confident selling complex logistics solutions
• Experience with CargoWise highly regarded
• CRM-savvy with disciplined pipeline management and forecasting capability
