About the Role: We're seeking two passionate and experienced Policy Officers to join our Engagement and Wellbeing team. In this vital role, you'll help shape the future of mental health policy for children and young people by leading the development of evidence-based strategies and initiatives to improve wellbeing outcomes across South Australian schools and preschools.
As a Policy Officer, you will:
Provide leadership, policy expertise, and advice on matters related to mental health and wellbeing. Develop, review, and implement policies, tools, and resources to support early intervention and systemic change. Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including internal teams, schools, interagency partners, and service providers. Analyze and apply research, legislation, and best practices to shape meaningful and sustainable improvements in wellbeing outcomes. Work in a dynamic project team, reporting to the Senior Policy Officer, Mental Health and Wellbeing, and contribute to strategic priorities within the directorate. Your subject area focus may shift over time in response to project needs and evolving departmental priorities.

Desirable Qualifications: An appropriate tertiary qualification in education, psychology, social work, law, or other relevant behavioral/social sciences, or equivalent relevant experience.
Special Conditions: The successful applicant is required to obtain a Department for Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check (WWCC) prior to employment, which must be renewed every five years. The incumbent will also need to undertake RRHAN–EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse, and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online Fundamentals course, which must be updated every three years.

Remuneration: ASO7 $108,109 - $116,864 per annum (1.0 FTE), plus superannuation (11.5%) and leave loading.
