At Catholic Education Northern Territory, we are more than a network of schools. We are a community inspired by Gospel values, committed to educational excellence, equity, and the holistic development of every child.
Catholic Education NT operates 18 Catholic schools across the Northern Territory — from Early Learning to Secondary — including five colleges, seven primary schools, one flexible learning centre, and five remote schools.
Our schools are places of learning, connection, and growth, guided by the values of Wisdom, Justice, Courage, Compassion, and Love.
The Acting Deputy Director Teaching and Learning works collaboratively as a member of the Executive Leadership Team for Catholic Education, contributing to the shared vision and goals of the Strategic Plan Towards.
The Executive Team provides strategic, educational, pastoral, and system leadership across Catholic Education NT — supporting, nurturing, challenging, and giving life to the Catholic story.
The Executive advocates on behalf of Catholic Education and drives excellence in learning, teaching, and system performance.
This is a full-time, fixed-term position commencing 19 January and concluding 26 June.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage change in educational policy and practice across CENT, aligned with Diocesan Catholic Education Council, National Catholic Education Commission, and NT and Australian Government priorities.
Provide strategic and practical support to school leaders, either directly or through School Improvement Partners (SCiP) and senior Teaching and Learning leaders.
Coordinate internal and external school review and improvement processes, represent CENT on local and national bodies, and build strong partnerships with governments, agencies, and educational organisations.
Promote and lead contemporary, culturally responsive curriculum and pedagogy across early childhood, primary, and secondary schools.
Mentor and coach senior leaders across Teaching and Learning, Inclusion Support (particularly for students experiencing educational disadvantage or learning needs), the RTO Manager, and the Early Years Leader.
Ensure effective communication of policy, processes, procedures, and accountabilities to schools in the area of Teaching and Learning.
Full details of the role and requirements can be found in the Position Description within the Information Pack.
