Water Crew Member
About the Role:
The Water and Sewer branch is responsible for the construction and maintenance of water and sewer assets.
A Water Crew Member (Construction & Services) is part of a specialised team that can be involved in activities such as construction of new services, modification of existing services, asset installation and maintenance, quality and analysis.
This position can include working across different work teams to meet business needs, assisting in routine manual labour and skilled tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
* Construct new services including repairs and maintenance on mains over 150mm
* Modify existing services including extensions of mains 100mm to 700mm diameter
* Install and maintain assets including PRVs and PSVs
* Analyse quality and disinfect water mains
Selection Criteria:
1. Certificate III in Water Industry Operations including relevant units of competency in Water Reticulation, Plumbing and/or Civil Construction
2. Relevant operational experience and knowledge in construction and maintenance activities related to water network assets
3. Ability to work autonomously and within teams with good communication and problem solving skills
4. Competency in reading reticulation drawings and maps
5. Self-motivation and ability to plan and make decisions towards proactive contribution and outcomes
6. Good level of communication and literacy skills and ability to work as part of a team
Desirable Qualifications:
* Certificate IV in Water Industry Operations
* Current Medium Rigid Drivers Licence and competent in load restraint protocols
* Statement of attainment in water backflow prevention
* Working Safely Near Live Electrical Apparatus qualification
