Senior Geotechnical Engineer
The position involves working as a senior geotechnical engineer on various projects across different industries and sectors. The role requires collaboration with local government, residential developers, rail authorities, education, commercial and industrial clients.
Key responsibilities include providing geotechnical expertise in residential, transport, and infrastructure projects for all project stages, from geotech investigation up to detail design and construction supervision.
Day-to-day tasks involve planning, coordinating, and managing field data acquisition, site investigations, testing, and producing calculations, reporting, specifications, and drawings to ensure that geotechnical designs provide appropriate solutions.
Other key tasks include undertaking geotechnical analysis in areas such as slope stability, pavement designs, foundations, and retaining walls, providing quality checks and reviewing experience to an appropriate technical standard.
Additionally, the role requires planning, programming, and coordinating geotechnical project inputs to deliver agreed outputs on budget, on time, and to agreed quality standards.
Finally, the successful candidate will prepare proposals and carry out other internal or external marketing initiatives as required.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you'll need a Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering with completion of geotechnical electives and/or major as part of your university studies.
Minimum 5 years of working experience in consulting is also required, along with recognised experience as a senior engineer in your current role.
Previous experience with soil investigation, supervision, and geotechnical design is highly desirable.
Experience with engineering software packages such as gINT, GEOSTUDIO, PLAXIS, ROCSCIENCE, CIRCLY, and AutoCAD is also preferred.
