About the role

The Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN) is launching brand new, purpose-built wards at Noarlunga Hospital (NH) for General Medicine and Mental Health, whereby the Division of Rehabilitation, Aged and Palliative Care (RAP) will occupy an existing ward as a part of the NH Uplift. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a new service inclusive of Residential Aged Care Outreach Team & Older Persons Assessment and Emergency Liaison units (RCOT/OPAL). The role will also contribute to the wider RAP service. This coincides with a brand new NH Pharmacy dispensary and broader workforce expansion to support the NH Uplift.

As a Senior Pharmacist, you will take a leading role in the organisation, management, and operation of a designated pharmacy area, delivering a comprehensive range of pharmacy services. You will exercise independent and autonomous professional judgement, providing expert medicines information, therapeutic advice, and guidance to patients, medical and nursing staff, and other health professionals. Your work will directly contribute to optimising patient outcomes, ensuring the safe, effective, and cost-conscious use of pharmaceuticals in line with hospital policies, divisional procedures, and professional standards.

In this role, you may also supervise and support the day-to-day work of permanent and rotational staff, including AHP and AHA staff and Administrative Support Officers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment. You will be accountable to the Deputy/Director of Pharmacy and report to the supervising Pharmacist in your rostered area, playing a key role in maintaining the highest standards of pharmacy practice across the hospital.

About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated pharmacist who demonstrates leadership, expertise, and a commitment to excellence in patient care.

* Bachelor of Pharmacy qualified and registered (or eligible) with the Pharmacy Board
* Proven leadership with experience in hospital pharmacy and supervising teams
* Excellent communication, problem-solving, and research skills in complex environments
* Strong knowledge of pharmacy practice, professional standards, and service improvement strategies
