The position will be hosted by the Tamworth Local Aboriginal Land Council (TLALC) and will contribute to advancing the shared strategic directions and aspirations of the Tamworth Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (TACCOs). About the role The Project Officer – Place-Based Partnerships plays a vital coordination and engagement role in supporting the delivery of the Tamworth Place-Based Partnership. Working closely with the Project Manager – Place-Based Partnerships, the TACCO Board, and the TLALC CEO, this role supports the planning, communication, and administration of project activities to ensure they are delivered effectively, transparently, and in line with community priorities and cultural protocols. About you You are a strong communicator and organiser who enjoys bringing people together to make a difference. You have experience in project coordination, administration, community engagement, and are confident working with the Tamworth Aboriginal community, government agencies, and local organisations. You value cultural integrity and understand the importance of community-led decision-making. You will have worked within Aboriginal community-controlled or not-for-profit organisations, are familiar with the Closing the Gap National Agreement and NSW CAPO partnership framework and possess strong knowledge and understanding of the Tamworth Aboriginal community context. This position suits someone who is organised, community-minded, and culturally grounded as well as collaborative, respectful and able to take initiative. Key Selection Criteria 1. Demonstrated experience in project coordination, administration, and community engagement. 2. Strong understanding of the Tamworth Aboriginal community and cultural protocols. 3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing reports and meeting papers. 4. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. 5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital collaboration tools. 6. You will be required to have a Current NSW Driver's Licence, and if you don't already hold will be willing to obtain a Working with Children's Check and National Police Check. 7.
