About the Opportunity
As the Planning and Development Manager, you'll lead and coordinate planning and development activities vital to Palmerston’s growth and liveability. Working closely with internal teams and external agencies and developers, you’ll ensure all endeavors resonate with the city’s vision and goals. The role reports directly to the Executive Manager Projects and Infrastructure Services with responsibility for the acceptance and handover of public assets, including open space, civil and related infrastructure.
About You
You should have:
* Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Town Planning or Project or Construction Management with relevant experience or a minimum five years of relevant experience in a similar role with relevant Diploma level qualifications.
* Relevant work experience in subdivision development and approvals.
* Good understanding of statutory planning, and Council’s role in the Northern Territory planning framework, as well as knowledge of standards, current technology and design requirements.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve complex issues.
* Ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders for community-focused outcomes.
* Excellent written communication skills and able to prepare complex correspondence and reports to a range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve community-focused outcomes.
