Our Northern Shoalhaven Community of Schools encompasses Berry Public School, Bomaderry Public School, Cambewarra Public School, Havenlee SSP, Illaroo Road Public School, Kangaroo Valley Public School, North Nowra Public School, Shoalhaven Heads Public School and Bomaderry High School. There is a strong commitment to all schools supporting the K – 12 journey of our students.
Bomaderry High School has 680 students within which Aboriginal students constitute 18% of the student population. Bomaderry High School currently has 10 Support Classes comprising of 1 IM class, 1 IO class, 3 AU classes, 2 BD classes, 1 ED class (MH1), 1 ED class (MH3) and 1 Suspension class.
Known as a consistent top ranking HSC school in the region, students have achieved success academically in a number of fields. This includes selection into National and International Science competitions. Performing arts, cultural and sporting fields are also promoted at the school, with students offered a wide range of activities. Many students have excelled in their chosen sport with some going on to represent NSW and/or Australia.
Specific Selection Criteria
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
Demonstrated expertise and proven successful experience in supporting students with a disability, which may include relevant qualifications in inclusion or special education.
Demonstrated ability to foster positive relationships with students, their families, and outside agencies to collaborate on reasonable adjustments, including implement, monitor and adjust, to maximise learning and wellbeing outcomes for students with disabilities.
Knowledge and understanding of available and appropriate options for transition to the setting that is best for individual student growth in all areas of learning and wellbeing.
Demonstrated ability to interpret and analyse student data to develop differentiated practice leading to improved outcomes for students with a disability.
General Selection Criteria1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents 5.
