About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Data Standards Body (DSB) and across government to deliver high quality regulatory standards.
The DSB supports the Data Standards Chair who is responsible for making the Data Standards that are necessary for the effective operation of Australia's Digital ID System and the Consumer Data Right (CDR) regulatory frameworks. The DSB is part of Treasury's Digital, Competition and Payments Division in Markets Group.
Further information about the CDR and Digital ID Data Standards, for which the Data Standards Chair is responsible, can be found on the DSB's website: Data Standards Body. The Data Standards set requirements for entities to build to and comply with in order to share data in compliance with the regulatory frameworks of the CDR and Digital ID. The DSB does not receive, store or analyse any data captured in accordance with the Data Standards.
A Business Analyst will support DSB by acting as a link between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure organisational processes, systems, and solutions meet business and/or policy needs. The BA will look to identify problems, recommend improvements, and support successful delivery of data standards across the Digital ID Data Standards or the CDR Standards.
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to
* Engage with business areas, ICT and CX teams to identify, define and document business requirements for data standards development.
* Develop clear and concise business process maps, user stories, and functional specifications to support solution design and implementation.
* Support solution design, testing and implementation activities to ensure alignment with requirements.
* Facilitate workshops and consultation with stakeholders to inform research and design of standards development and guidance resources.
* Collaborate with technical teams to ensure solutions meet business and user needs, accessibility standards and security requirements.
* Prepare high-quality documentation including business cases, options analyses and briefing materials.
* Work with stakeholders to identify, document and prioritise business requirements
* Use analytical tools to gather insights, identify trends, and present data-driven recommendations to leadership.
* Contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team.
Desirable Qualifications / Experience
* The ability to quickly understand the policy and data standards landscape for Digital ID and/or the CDR.
* Demonstrated experience in business analysis, process improvement, or system implementation projects.
* Experience developing business and functional requirements and process documentation.
* Experience using business analysis tools (e.g. GitHub, Notion, etc.) to support agile and hybrid delivery environments.
* Ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders, including technical and non-technical audiences.
* Relevant qualifications or certifications are desirable.
