* Salary: $95,777 – $102,659 per annum, plus 17% Super and Leave Loading.
Contribute to research excellence by supporting HDR students and research operations across the faculty.
The Opportunity
As the Research and HDR Administration Officer, you will play a central role in supporting the effective management of research activities and higher degree research candidature across the faculty. You will provide high level administrative coordination to ensure research processes, events, and student milestones are delivered efficiently and in alignment with university policy.
Working closely with academics, HDR students, and professional staff, you will manage a diverse portfolio that includes candidature processes, scholarship and funding administration, research travel, event coordination, and research operations support. The role requires a proactive approach to policy interpretation, data accuracy, and stakeholder service, helping the faculty maintain a consistent and high-quality research environment.
You will also support key leaders including the Director of Research and Associate Deans by providing administrative assistance for research development initiatives, grant preparation, compliance requirements, and communication across research networks. This position is hands-on, varied, and essential to the smooth operation of the faculty's research and HDR ecosystem.
What Success Looks Like:
* Deliver timely, accurate, and compliant coordination of HDR processes including admissions, milestones, examinations, and graduation.
* Provide responsive and professional support to HDR students, academics, and internal stakeholders through shared mailbox management and direct advice.
* Coordinate research and HDR events, workshops, and seminars that strengthen research capability and engagement.
* Assist with research operations including grant application preparation, ethics submissions, budgeting, and tracking of research funds.
* Apply University and Faculty policy consistently, ensuring clear communication and adherence across staff and students.

About You
* Demonstrated experience providing high level administrative support within a complex environment, with the ability to manage confidential information.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to develop effective working relationships and deliver quality service.
* Proven capability interpreting and applying policies, procedures, and compliance requirements in daily operations.
* High level organisation and planning skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and high-volume workloads.
* Experience working with research administration, budget monitoring, financial reporting, and preparation of submissions or correspondence.
