The Payments Domain is responsible for CBA's portfolio of domestic and international payments products for all customer segments. The Cash Sustainability team is part of the Payments Strategy team. Its key responsibilities include
* Setting and delivering against the Group Cash Strategy
* Working with industry partners to develop long term solutions for the sustainability of the cash ecosystem
* Developing and maintaining cash products and channels.
Do work that matters
Cash as a form of payment is at an inflection point. Usage has materially declined over the last 10 years however key segments of Australian consumers and businesses want and need broad access to cash. Helping the cash ecosystem transform to become more sustainable is a key challenge for the economy, businesses, and the banking sector. This challenge is bringing together government bodies, regulators, suppliers, businesses, consumer groups, and banks in a unique way to collective solve what cash payments will look like for the next 10 years.
As Manager Cash Strategy and Optimisation, you will play a key role in the team through driving the execution of the CBA cash strategy and contributing to the direction of the cash ecosystem in Australia.
You will report directly into Executive Manager Cash Strategy and Transformation, and you will regularly liase with executives and senior management across CBA, Government and Industry participants.
To be successful in this role, some of the broad roles and responsibilities may include:
* Drive the execution of the Group Cash Strategy, translating strategic priorities into actionable initiatives and measurable outcomes.
* Monitor delivery progress against strategic priorities, escalating risks and dependencies as needed
* Apply Agile/PACE practices to ensure effective delivery, including backlog management, sprint planning, and performance tracking
* Support the development of the annual operating plan, and contribute to quarterly business reviews and quarterly planning cycles
* Producing papers and presentations to support the various Cash related initiatives
* Support the effective operation of Cash governance forums by preparing relevant materials and tracking actions to ensure strategic alignment and accountability.
* Support the Executive Manager in advancing CBA's position on cash-related matters in industry forums and working groups
* Monitor cash-related risks and ensure initiatives remain within risk appetite, escalating issues where appropriate
* Work closely with the Executive Manager to drive team performance, support squad rituals, and maintain alignment with broader Payments and Business Banking goals
We're interested in hearing from people who possess the following:
* 4+ years professional services experience, with background in Strategy and Program Delivery
* Proven track record in leading strategic initiatives and delivering outcomes for senior stakeholders
* Ability to deliver concise and compelling written and verbal updates to senior executives and governance forums
* Demonstrated ability in structured problem solving, conceptual thinking, quantitative analysis, to support strategic decision-making
* Skilled in prioritisation planning with experience in developing and executing operating plans and quarterly business reviews
* Experienced in planning and delivery of projects for senior leaders
* Ability to lead a small team, driving performance through effective collaboration and application of Agile/PACE practices
* Strong commercial judgement in evaluating investment opportunities, partnerships and business cases.
* Familiarity with risk management frameworks, with the ability to monitor and ensure initiatives remain within risk appetite.
* University degree qualification in business, economics, technology, law or commercially related discipline is desirable
