As an Underground Technology Senior System Integration Engineer, you will be instrumental in ensuring delivery of a high-quality product. The MineStar Underground systems are used in an integrated mine environment, to enable autonomous machine operations, production recording management and monitoring in underground mining applications, using onboard and offboard software and systems.
You will continually learn and stay abreast of innovative technology, mentor and coach enterprise team members, and deepen your professional network.
Responsibilities
* Systems engineering management for CfUL (Command for Underground Loading)
* Support management with technical details and analysis to inform trade‐offs and compromises
* Support or perform CfUL validation/verification
* Support or perform CfUL risk management
* Support or perform CfUL configuration management
* Support or perform CfUL technical reviews and audits (system demos, design reviews, DFMEA, functional safety, EMC, PC&S engagement, etc.)
* Be aware of and guide system development
* Develop integration strategies for complex projects
* Support system optimisation and balance
* Follow system requirements developed with the UG site SE lead in line with relevant standards (e.g., ISO)
* Support or guide architecture decisions
* Own and define the structure of CfUL
* Manage CfUL's interfaces (responsible for internal interfaces, consult on external interfaces)
* Maintain the definition of CfUL component interfaces
* Define and own the behaviour of CfUL
* Support or perform development and maintenance of operational scenarios and use cases for CfUL
* Support or perform authoring of system specifications (solution space)
Key Skills Required

* Artificial intelligence: knowledge of AI concepts, technologies and methodologies; ability to develop, implement and apply AI products and services in a specific industry domain to achieve business goals.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree, master's degree or PhD in an accredited engineering field.
* 10 years of relevant work experience.
* Strong analytical skills and mining experience.
* Systems engineering experience.
Desired Qualifications
* Good communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills.
* Working knowledge of systems engineering principles, design patterns and autonomy.
* Ability to work independently and communicate with others in a variety of work environments.
* Self‐motivated to solve problems and guide change.
* Familiarity with interfaces, database, microservices, middleware and Linux OS.
Additional Information
Location: Melbourne (or willing to relocate).
Travel: To Caterpillar Proving Grounds or customer site as required (up to 20%).
This position requires working onsite five days a week.
