Mechanical Fitter Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our workshop team. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the overhaul, testing, and certification of air brake components used in rail applications.
Responsibilities:
* Overhaul, test, and certify air brake components used in rail applications
* Perform detailed mechanical assembly and disassembly work
* Interpret technical drawings and follow strict maintenance procedures
* Conduct safety inspections and complete relevant documentation
* Assist with general workshop tasks and maintain a safe work area
* Operate hand and power tools as needed
Requirements:
* Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter (Cert III or equivalent)
* Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on workshop experience
* Experience with overhauling or maintaining mechanical components (rail, industrial, automotive or similar)
* Understanding of pneumatic systems (advantageous)
* High attention to detail and safety awareness
* Physically fit, reliable, and committed to quality work
* Forklift licence (preferred but not essential)
