About Your Role
As a Social Worker with Metro South Palliative Care Service, you'll play a vital role in supporting patients and families during some of the most significant moments of their lives.
In This Role, You Will
* Deliver evidence-based palliative care social work assessment, intervention and evaluation across community and inpatient environments.
* Provide psychosocial support addressing emotional, social, spiritual and bereavement needs.
* Manage a clinical caseload using effective time management and accurate record-keeping.
* Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, case conferences and collaborative care planning.
* Support students and less experienced staff with supervision of routine tasks and clinical guidance.
About You
You are a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker who brings strong clinical capability, excellent communication and a deep commitment to patient-centred care.
You Will Bring
* Ability to deliver high-quality, efficient and compassionate palliative care social work services.
* Strong communication skills that support collaborative interprofessional practice.
* Ability to manage workload, maintain accurate documentation and engage in professional growth.
* Capacity to contribute to clinical education, supervision and team learning.
* Previous adult palliative care, oncology and/or chronic disease & illness experience in a hospital or community health setting (highly desirable).

About The Metro South Palliative Care Service
Metro South Palliative Care Service (MSPCS) provides specialist palliative care utilising the model for population-based care developed by Palliative Care Australia. MSPCS provides direct care in the Canossa Palliative Care Unit and Wynnum Manly Palliative Care Unit, consultative and/or direct care for patients in all hospitals in the Metro South Hospital and Health Service and provides community-based specialist palliative care across the district. Community services, including in-reach consultatory service to Residential Aged Care Facilities, are based at Brisbane South, Redland and Logan & Beaudesert.
