What We're Looking For
: The Site Surveillance Officer will lead infield inspection, monitoring and change management activities to ensure safety, quality control and customer satisfaction measures are being met on the Meter Replacement Program and other Metering Services initiatives.
This role is also responsible for leading field inspections, asset auditing, supplier coordination, and compliance activities to ensure safety, quality, and reliable service delivery across the Metered Standpipe Program.
About this role:
This role has primary responsibility to Develop and maintain a surveillance and inspection program for in progress and post completion meter installations for the new, reactive and planned components of the Meter Replacement Program.
You will be required to:
Take a lead role in understanding and holding internal staff and external customers accountable for the application of Icon Water's Metering Standards and Procedures.
Provide input to technical standards and guidelines updates and apply in practice in the field.
Monitor technical, quality, safety and environmental obligations in a timely fashion to meet KPIs and ensure the early identification and rectification of issues to minimise impacts on program budgets and schedules.
Provide written reports to the project manager on audit and inspection findings, trends, KPI's and recommendations to inform and improve program outcomes.
Take a lead role dealing with customers to rectify encroachments to water meters that impact on critical maintenance, replacement and meter reading activities.
Administer and where necessary facilitate improvements to Icon Water's network protection processes for non-compliance relating to water meter standards and processes and work closely with Access Canberra to enforce compliance.
Build and maintain trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Network Maintenance Services supervisors and personnel to drive and improve delivery outcomes.
Develop and deliver training and provide support and guidance to internal and external stakeholders to ensure the compliant and consistent installation of water meters.
Manage the Metered Standpipe Program under direction from the Project Manager,
Who we are looking for:
We're seeking a dedicated individual who Technical, plumbing or trade qualifications (Minimum Certificate 3 or equivalent) combined with experience in the industrial, manufacturing or utility service delivery environment.
You will also need:
Experience dealing with a wide range of field-based personnel using change management, mentoring and coaching strategies to support changes within industry.
Experience creating and rolling outformal training packages to support field-based work activities.
Experience creating programs of work including schedules, KPIs and contingency plans.
Qualified to install and test backflow prevention devices and significant experience in residential, commercial and industrial plumbing.
Experience and knowledge in planning, operation and maintenance of water supply systems and water metering (Desirable).
Significant experience in customer engagement and resolving customer complaints combined with excellent communication skills.
Experience in the inspection of utility network infrastructure and investigation of network defects (Desirable).
Knowledge and understanding of utility water supply and sewerage standards, relevant codes of practice and industry standards (Desirable).
Broad knowledge of asset performance and condition assessment.
Demonstrated ability to manage safety in an industrial environment.
Possession of a valid Australian Driver's Licence driver's is essential.
