Join us as our first **Senior Manager - Design Operations **and help the newly centralised design team and play a key role in building our organisation-wide design and research capabilities. You will support the design and research leaders (and their teams) crafting experiences across our Personal Banking, Business Banking, Wealth Management, and Deposits products.
You'll report directly to the Chief Design Officer and partner with other design leaders and business teams to help create a well-oiled set of mechanisms that will power much of what the design team do at Macquarie Bank. You'll be responsible for directly managing a small team of researchers and indirectly help the larger team of service/strategic, UX and UI designers answer questions effectively, helping them design for excellence, based on a deeper understanding of our customers, their contexts, and the evolving marketplace.
- What you'll do: _
- Help setup and manage processes to ensure smooth hiring, onboarding, and offboarding for our growing team.
- Work with partners in finance and HR to keep track of team budgets, forecasts, and other operational matters
- In conjunction with the design leadership, develop a view to help plan team capacity to achieve optimal resource allocation as well as serve as an input into future planning.
- Plan and organise team wide activities and events to help foster a cohesive team culture that is tied to the organisation's broader principles.
- Manage external relationships with vendor, such as recruitment agencies or research partners.
- Supporting the leadership team with their tooling strategy by helping manager costs, procurement, licensing etc.
- Bonus marks if you have experience in helping product teams / Agile squads better embed and utilise designers working in those teams (program management).
- And lastly, we'd love if you have experience in setting up research ops capabilities (such as recruitment panels, helping create internal systems to store information, maintain internal SharePoint sites, file storage structures etc.)
- What you'll bring to the role: _
- Demonstrable experience in a design or research ops role in a complex environment.
- Ideally, experience as a designer or a design program manager so you can empathise with the design team.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and a collaborative and respectful approach to partnering with stakeholders.
